 Where is the Burn Run race held?

It is held at the East Syracuse Fire Department #2, 148 Sanders Creek Parkway, East Syracuse, NY 13057.  Click Here for additional Location/Direction information. 


 What time does the race start?

  • Kids race starts at 8:30am
  • 5K starts at 9:00am
  • 10K starts at 10:00am

 How do I register for the race?

Online Registration: Click Here to register online and pay entry fee. Online registration closes on November 3rd.

Mail In Registration: Print the Registration Form and send it along with the appropriate entry fee to: East Syracuse Fire Department, Attn: The Burn Run, 204 N. Center Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057

Packet Pick Up Registration*: Registration will be available during packet pick up at Fleet Feet on Bridge Street in East Syracuse on November 4th from 10:00am- 2:00pm.  Registration Forms will be available on site or you can bring it with you. Please bring a check or exact cash for entry fee--no credit/debit cards will be accepted during packet pick up registration. 

Race Day Registration*: Race day registration will start at 7:30am inside the fire station. Registration Forms will be available on site or you can bring it with you. Please bring a check or exact cash for entry fee--no credit/debit cards will be accepted during race day registration. 

*An additional $5 will apply to all registrations completed during packet pick up and on race day.


 How much is registration for the race?

To run only the 5K or only the 10K race, registration is $25 per person.  To run both the 5K and 10K race, registration is $30 per person.  If registering during packet pick up or on race day, an additional $5 will apply to the registration fees listed.

The kids run is a free race. 


 How do I make out my entry fee check?

Please make all checks payable to the East Syracuse Fire Department and note The Burn Run in the memo line of your check. Checks made payable to other entities will be returned and will delay processing of your application.


 What does registration include?

Entry into the 5K and/or 10K race (additional fee to participate in both races).  Commemorative race day shirt and food/snacks after the race. 


 What if I sign up for the race, but can't attend, can I get a refund of my entry fee?

There are no refunds or transfers permitted for The Burn Run.  Your registration fee is considered a contribution/donation to the Burn Foundation of Central New York. 


 What if my personal information was entered incorrectly on my registration?

Email Leone Timing with your name and address, including the correct information.


 Is this a USATF certified race?

Both races are USATF certified. The 5K course is certificate #NY07071JG. The 10K course  is certificate #NY12137JG.


 When are the awards given?

The 5K awards are announced at 9:45am and the 10K awards are announced at 11:30am.  There will be awards given for combined 5K and 10K results as well which will be announced at the completion of the 10K results.  Awards must be picked up at the race.


 Can I run with headphones?

Yes, please just be aware of your surroundings while running. 


 Can I run with a stroller?

Yes, but be aware that congestion occurs at the start of the race (as it does with any race) so please be mindful of the people around you that as well. 


 Can I run with my dog?

No, the race is for humans only.  If you have a certified service/therapy animal though, please contact the race director prior to registration. 


 Are there water stops?

Yes, there will be water stations placed throughout the course for 5K and 10K. 


 What if I can't run but would like to make a monetary contribution?

To donate online, please visit the registration site and click Donate to make a donation by credit/debit card. 

To donate by check, please visit send a check made payable to the East Syracuse Fire Department (with The Burn Run on the memo line) and mail to East Syracuse Fire Department, Attn: The Burn Run, 204 N. Center Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057. 


 What parking is available?

Parking is available at the Bank of New York Mellon facility. Volunteers can direct you to the appropriate parking area.
